HIGH POINT – Home office, entertainment and bedroom furniture supplier BDI had a clear focus for this week’s market: adding collections and expanding others to focus on storage.

One of those expansions was an add-on to its longtime best-selling entertainment console.

“We’ve been getting a lot of requests from our buyers for more storage,” said Dave Adams, vice president of marketing. “Corridor is one of our longest lasting best-selling items in the entertainment category, and now we’re launching a new storage piece to go with it.” For the latest High Point Market news, click here to visit our Live From Market landing page.

The new piece is versatile, said Adams, and can be used around the home. Two options are offered: Two-door, which retails for around $2,299, and four-door, at about $3,499. Three finish options are offered.

Also new on the storage side was Profile, a new media and storage cabinet that also comes in two versions: three-door and four-door. Features include soft-close drawers and metal lining that helps block sight of the items inside, while still allowing ventilation and remote-control signal to pass through.

Another push was the addition of home office items to Linq, the company’s first bedroom collection launched a few markets back. Office items are designed by the same designer and also feature walnut hardwood and veneer construction.

For the Linq bedroom, nothing new was added, but features were tweaked. Lighting, for example, is no longer remote controlled and is instead touch activated.

Lastly, three new executive office chairs were introduced, each representing a different level of the good, better, best pricing tier. Adams said these coincide nicely with the popular X-chair – an office chair made by a competing company also named X-chair – leaving brick-and-mortar stores to go e-commerce only.
